Litchfield Park, AZ, home of the prestigious Wigwam Resort and Golf. This 75 acre golf resort has a nice luscious green atmosphere with a great hometown feel. It has been recognized for it’s great ammenities, excellent service, wonderful restaurants and 3 golf coarses. Many different festivals are put on though out the year (native American festival, classical festival, blues festival, arts festivals, movies in the park, ect). Litchfield park is located about 15 miles west of Phoenix. It was founded in the early 1900’s by Paul Litchfield of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber company. Originally Litchfield Park and Goodyear mainly consisted of Egyptian cotton farms and the cotton was used for creating tire cords for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber company. It wasn’t until the late 1980’s that Litchfield Park was incorporated. Some areas that have the Litchfield Park address are actually still unincorportated or in the county. This means that they have private companies or county services for police, fire and water. The Litchfield Park postal service still provides for them. Many families move to Litchfield Park for the great schools, amenities, and sense of community it has to offer. There is a local library, community center with pool & tennis and plenty of safe areas to walk or bike.
